NSW RIGHT REJECTS WOMEN

KEATING’S DISINTEREST IN WOMEN CONFIRMED

A plea by NSW ALP left-wing women to establish a Labor women's forum to staunch the flow of female votes to the Coalition was defeated by right-wing delegates at an ALP conference on Monday, June C.

This significant political blunder highlights the ALP's lack of concern for women. As left-wing NSW Legislative Council member Ms Ann Symonds said: "The NSW Labor Party has done Keating a great disservice".

The scorned warning from the Left that Labor could lose the next Federal election over its inability to communicate its stance on women's issues confirms both Mr Keating's woeful credentials on issues relating to women and verifies One Nation has nothing new in it for women. -

No wonder the majority of women disapprove of Keating - as shown in recent public opinion polls. The polls indicate Labor has failed on issues of importance to women such as superannuation, health, respite care, child care, education and employment.

In contrast policies for women in Fightback are wide reaching, meet the needs and aspirations of Australian women and reflect the Opposition's concerns about women's issues.

To make matters worse for the Federal Government, Keating's appointment of Dr Ann Summers to redress women voters opinion can only be seen us un act of desperation to combat Fightback's initiatives and as a lack of confidence in his Minister advising him on the Status of Women, Wendy Fatin.

And as Dr Summers commences her difficult three-month stint to improve Keating’s low level of support among women, the many positive benefits for women in Fightback will be highlighted as Dr Summers advises Keating that the Opposition's policies are just what he needs!
