TRIBUTE TO FORMER NT SENATOR TED ROBERTSON

Former Labor Senator Ted Robertson will be remembered for his contributions to the fields of education services, youth activities, ethnic and Aboriginal affairs, CLP Senator Grant Tambling and former CLP Senator Bern Kilgariff said today.

"I am sure many Territorians who knew the warm and personable character of Ted Robertson regret his passing and will be

thinking of Audrey Robertson and her family at this time," Senator Tambling said.

Senate colleague for 12 years (1975-87), Mr Bern Kilgariff said he was saddened to learn of Mr Robertson's death.

"Ted and I formed a good personal relationship through speaking for the Northern Territory in Canberra and in our roles as the Senate Party Whips (alternatively in government and opposition).

"Despite often very differing viewpoints I always found Ted Robertson to be a man of sound principles and family standards. He was a practising Christian who could manage to put his

political views in a courteous manner and with integrity," Mr Kilgariff said.
