SHADOW MINISTER FOR ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND THE A.C.T.

SENATE FULL OF ALP PARTY FUNCTIONARIES Shadow Minister for Administrative Services, Senator Warwick Parer, said during debate in the Senate today that the way to get into Parliament in the Labor Party was to be a paid Party

functionary.

Senator Parer said that of the 32 Labor Senators, ten had been Secretary or Assistant Secretaries in Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania and Western Australia.

Listed below is a current list of Senators who previously were ALP functionaries or paid party officials. Ten ALP Senators, out of a total of 32, were formerly Labor Party officials.
