NOTE FOR RURAL REPORTERS:

The M inister for Prim ary Industries and Energy, M r Simon Crean, w ill spend next Wednesday, August 24th, in country Victoria.

ITINERARY FOR WEDNESDAY, 24th AUGUST, 1991

8.00 am: depart Melbourne, Essendon Airport.

9.00 am: arrive Stawell Airport.

9.30 am: Arrive CRA mineral sands deposit, Amotts Rd, Drung South.

11.00 am: depart CRA.

11.45 am: arrive "Templemore", wheat/sheep property, Murtoa Rd, Murtoa.

1.00 pm: lunch (a number of local farmers have been in vited to join M r ' Crean for lunch).

2.00 pm: depart "Templemore".

2.45 pm: arrive "Glenera", a fine wool/cereals/vegetables property, Eagles Rd, Horsham.

3.45 pm: afternoon tea after inspection of the property. M r Crean w ill speak w ith local farmers.

4.20 pm: depart "Glenera".

4.35 pm: meet Horsham C ity Council.

5.00 pm: civic reception to be held by Horsham City Council.

6.00 pm: depart for Horsham airport.

7.15 pm: arrive Essendon Airport.

There is capacity for up to ten media representatives to travel on the plane w ith M r Crean from Melbourne to Stawell, and from Horsham to Melbourne.

Anyone wanting a seat on the plane should have a w ritten request to Barbara Sharp in M r Crean's Parliament House office (Suite 64MG) no later than 3.00 pm on Friday, 19th August. Selection will· be on a firs t in, best dressed basis.

Media representatives w ill need to arrange their own on-ground transport. Preference for seats on the plane w ill be given to journalists, in which case, there might be a need for television journalists wanting to go on the trip to pool vision.

Barbara Sharp w ill allocate the seats on Monday, 22nd August.

Detailed directions for travelling to each destination w ill be issued next week.
