BOEING SIGNS AUSTRALIAN AEROSPACE CONTRACT, 12 NOON, MAIN COMMITTEE ROOM, PARLIAMENT HOUSE

Boeing, the world's biggest civil aircraft manufacturer, will today (Tuesday April 16) sign contracts for the biggest single order ever placed by an overseas company with the Australian aerospace industry.

Boeing will also sign a long term agreement with the Federal Government covering Australian access to future contracts with the aircraft company.

The Minister for Industry, Technology and Commerce, Senator John Button, and Boeing Senior Vice President, Mr Lawrence W. Clarkson, will sign the agreement.

Mr Clarkson and representatives of two major Australian aerospace companies will sign contracts for the Boeing order.

The signings will take place at a news conference beginning at 12 noon in the Main Committee Room in Parliament House.
