The Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, the Hon. Rabbie Namaliu, will visit Australia from 23 to 28 May 1989 as a Guest of the Government.

The visit by the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, an important member of the South Pacific region, reflects the enduring strength of the political, trade and economic links between Australia and Papua New Guinea,

and both countries1 wish to further enhance their already close relations.

Apart from Canberra, Prime Minister Namaliu will also be visiting Sydney and Brisbane. He will be accompanied by the Hon. John Kaputin, Member for Rabaul. During the visit Prime Minister Namaliu will meet Prime Minister Hawke and other Ministers in Canberra, and will address

business leaders and meet the media in the other capitals.
