ACTING MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL CRIME AUTHORITY

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Rosemary Eva Davey as an acting member of the National Crime Authority.

Ms Davey is currently at the Adelaide Bar. She practises in criminal law, personal injuries, criminal injuries compensation and defence work.

She has been regularly briefed by the South Australian and Commonwealth Directors of Public Prosecutions and has also acted for the National Crime Authority.

Following agreement at the Leaders’ Summit on Terrorism and Multi-Jurisdictional Crime in April, the National Crime Authority will be replaced by the Australian Crime Commission by 31 December 2002.

Accordingly Ms Davey’s acting appointment will be for the period until 31 December 2002. She will take up her position on 29 August 2002.

We look forward to Ms Davey’s contribution to the work of the NCA in its fight against organised crime.
