Industrial Changes set to be deny local workers a Fair Go

27 July 2005

On 22nd August 2005, Maria Vamvakinou MP, the Federal Labor Member for Calwell will address a Public Meeting being organised by FAIR GO in Campbellfield about the Howard Governments planned Workplace Relations changes.

“Average workers are doing it hard to make ends meet, and with the Government’s plans to introduce changes to the Workplace Relations system, things are only going to get harder.” said Maria Vamvakinou

“The Howard Government’s control of the Senate means that Australia’s workplace laws will be changed to take away your rights at work.”

“These changes will affect many workers and their families” said Maria Vamvakinou “It will make the jobs of local residents less secure and working conditions worse.”

“Under John Howard’s changes, unfair dismissal laws will be done away with, meaning up to 4 million Australian workers will lose that protection.” said Maria Vamvakinou

The Public Meeting will be held on Monday 22nd August 2005 at the Campbellfield Community Centre. 81 Somerset Road Campbellfield.
