NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN FOR PRIME MINISTER’S WORK FOR THE DOLE ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS 2005 The Nationals Member for Riverina Kay Hull today announced the opening of nominations for the 2005 Prime Minister’s Work for the Dole Achievement Awards.

Mrs Hull said the awards recognised the contribution by many to the success of the Work for the Dole program and the achievements of those who take part in the program.

Nominations are being sought in three categories: • Most Outstanding Work for the Dole Participant 2005 - the participant who has most developed their work skills and/or those of others through their participation in Work for the Dole, and who has made an outstanding contribution to the success of their activity during 2005.

• Most Outstanding Work for the Dole Supervisor 2005 - the supervisor who has demonstrated the strongest support for Work for the Dole participants in an activity throughout 2005 and who has forged links with the community to enhance the success of the activity.

• Best Work for the Dole Activity 2005 - an overall winner will be selected from activities that operated during 2005 in the three finalist sub-categories outlined below. One finalist will be awarded from each of these categories.

- Best Caring for People Activity - Best Community Activity - Best Natural and/or Cultural Heritage Activity

“Work for the Dole is an excellent program that provides local job seekers with valuable hands-on work experience while allowing them to give something back to the community that supports them,” Mrs Hull said.

Award nominations open on Monday 19 December 2005 and close on Tuesday 28 February 2006.
