NEW MITCHAM GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL FACILITIES OPENED

A new Library Information Centre, Administration Centre and Science Laboratory were officially opened today at Mitcham Girls High School by the Federal Member for Boothby, Dr Andrew Southcott MP.

“The second stage redevelopment of the library and the administration area, and the construction of the new science facility at Mitcham Girls High School will help ensure the best possible facilities for student learning.

“These outstanding facilities will help ensure all students at Mitcham Girls High School are encouraged to realise their potential,” said Dr Southcott.

Dr Southcott officially opened the new facilities on behalf of the Commonwealth Minister for Education, Science and Training, the Hon Dr Brendan Nelson MP.

Dr Southcott congratulated the school and its community on establishing the best possible facilities for their students.

The project was funded by a Commonwealth Government grant of $950,000 and a State Government grant of $831,000.

“The project demonstrates the Commonwealth Government’s commitment to providing every student with the best possible learning environment through the provision of these new facilities,” said Dr Southcott.
