Approximately $14.8 million has been committed to the Murrumbidgee CMA over the next four years through the Caring for Our Country (C4OC) program, The Nationals Members for Riverina, Kay Hull, advised today.

“Murrumbidgee CMA has been allocated the highest baseline funding of all Natural Resource Management organisations across Australia which is very exciting news,” Mrs. Hull said.

“This funding will assist in developing Murrumbidgee CMA’s exciting new suite of projects that will build on the success of their programs over the past five years and help build more resilient landscapes.

“A range of projects which are still to be fully finalised will be delivered by the Murrumbidgee CMA, including; a program focusing on sites of cultural heritage significance; a program to protect breeding and nesting grounds of more than 20,000 bird species, including threatened species such as Australian Bittern, Painted Snipe and Sharp-tailed Sand Piper around Leeton; and workshops for land managers designed to improve on-farm productivity and have significant biodiversity outcomes.

“There are quite a number of projects and the Murrumbidgee CMA will release further details once they are finalised,” Mrs. Hull said.
