Hobart youth wins National Youth Talent Competition

Jeremy Gorniak from Sandy Bay is one of 25 winners of the National Talent Competition (NTC) and Win Free Stuff Competition, held as part of National Youth Week.

Jeremy won the ShootIT competition with his piece ‘NOTAXISTAN’, a propaganda-style infomercial educating the world about a free-tax nation called ‘Notaxistan’.

Senator Carol Brown, Senator for Tasmania said the National Talent Competition this year attracted more than 2,000 entries and praised this talented young Tasmanian winner.

“I want to congratulate Jeremy Gorniak on his success and wish him all the best with this head-start in the creative industries.

“This competition is a fantastic opportunity for young people to show their skills in the areas of writing, short film, photography, music and design - for their chance to win a share in almost $50,000 worth of prizes,” Senator Carol Brown said.

The judging panels of the competition included industry experts, including the founder of Modular Records, Steven Pavlovic of RockIT.

The National Talent Competition was held during National Youth Week in April, Australia’s largest celebration of young people aged 12 to 25 years.
