SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR AUSTRALIAN STUDENTS

The East-West Center at the University of Hawaii is offering a number of scholarships to students from Australia for the 1971-72 American Academic year.

The scholarships are available to suitably qualified post-graduate students in the fields of problem oriented programs relating to population, communication and food.

Other fields of growing interest to Australia and in which the University of Hawaii has particular competence are:-Asian Studies, Chinese, Japanese, Pacific Studies, History of South East Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Grants are made initially for twelve months, but may be extended in appropriate programs. The scholarships include travel to and from Hawaii, tuition, board and lodging, health. insurance and a small personal allowance. There is no provision for dependants. Qualified students may be given an opportunity to supplement their studies at a selected university in the United States on an academic tour of one semester.
