JAPANESE GOVERNMENT RESEARCH AWARDS 1971/72

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AGENCY

The Department of Education and Science, Canberra, advised that the Science and Technology Agency of the Government of Japan is offering an award to an Australian citizen for research work in Japan for approximately seven months, from about April 1971.

The award is for a specialist in the fields of natural and applied science and technology. Applicants should be government personnel or of similar status and should have been engaged in scientific and technical research for more than three years after graduating from university, or have an equivalent professional and academic background, Applicants must be under forty years of age, in good health, and have a fair knowledge of English or Japanese.

Benefits include economy class airfare to and from Japan, and monthly allowance of 108,000 yen (approximately $A267.00).
