Statement by the Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr. R. W. Swartz, and

the Western Australian Minister for Transport, Mr. R. O'Connor.

Two Western Australian toms -- Esperance and Norseman - are

to have a direct air commuter service link with Perth.

The Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr. R. W. Swartz, and the

Western Australian Minister for Transport, Mr. R. O'Connor, announced

this today.

The Ministers said that Civil Flying Services (W.A.) Pty. Ltd.,

had been given approval to operate the service with modern light twin-engine aircraft.

They added that the company initially proposed five return

services a week between Perth and Esperance -- or. Monday, Tuesday,

Thursday, ?riday and Sunday with calls at Norseman on Tuesday and Friday.

The Ministers said that Civil Flying Services already operated

Perth - Rottnest Island and Perth - Albany services.
