EXThA FREQEJ NCTES FOR KIM - QANTAS

(Statement by the Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr. R. W. Swartz)

The Royal Dutch Airline $ KIN has been given approval to operate a second weekly flight into Sidney from April, 1970.

KIM at present flies one Amsterdam-Sydney service a week.

Australia's overseas airline, QANTAS, has also received

approval to operate three flights a week through Amsterdam to London,

also from April, 1970.

Q1JJTAS now flies through A m sterdam to London twice a week.

These changes in the Australia-Netherlands Air Services

Agreement were announced today by the Minister for Civil Aviation

(9r. R. W. Swartz).

Mr. Swartz said that agreement was reached after three days of

cordial negotiation between the five-man Dutch Civil. Aviation Delegation

and representatives of the Australian Department of Civil Aviation.

The Dutch negotiators were led by the Netherlands Director-General of Civil Aviation (Admiral W. Kruys) and the Australians

were headed by the Director-General of Civil Aviation (Sir Donald

Anderson).
