Statement by the M inister for Civil Aviation, The Hon. R.W. Swartz,.

A top-class restaurant and cocktail lounge to cost about $130,090, will be establiBhed at Adelaide Airport Terminal by Australian Airport Services Pty. Ltd.

The concession, for ten years, was let under the Commonwealth's Airports (Business Concessions) Act, 19590 after public tenders had been called.

This was announced today by the Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr. R.W.C. Swartz, Mr. Swartz said that Australian Airport Services Pty, Ltd,-, a Sydney--based company would plan and develop a

ground-floor restaurant and milk bar and a first-floor cocktail lounge in conjunction with the terminal extension.

Both the terminal and the facilities were expected to be ready by December 1969, he added. Mr. Swartz said that as Adelaide Airport served the capital of South Australia and was a major transit airport# the Department of Civil Aviation's intention was that the facilities should achieve and maintain the highest standards

of service and proprietry. Last year, the Adelaide terminal handled more than 820,000 air travellers and about the same number of visitors.

Mr. Swartz added that the terminal's liquor fgoilitiee would follow closely the appropriate State laws.

at the present Sydney (Kingefordi_Smith) international terminal and at Canberra airport terminal.
