Cultural Exhibitions to visit Tamworth Two travelling cultural exhibits will be on show in Tamworth, thanks to Australian Government funding, NSW Senator Sandy Macdonald said today.

"The Visions of Australia program will allow Tamworth and New England residents the opportunity to view an exhibition that might not have otherwise travelled to the region," Senator Macdonald said.

• On Track: Contemporary Aboriginal art from Western Australia, showcases 32 key artworks collected by the Berndt Museum of Anthropology at the University of Western Australia over the past decade.

• Twined Together: Kunmadj Njalehnjaleken, a comprehensive overview of contemporary fibre practice of Aboriginal women from Western Arnhem land within an ancient and historical framework.

"The Australian Government has made a commitment to ensure that all Australians have access to cultural events and exhibitions. Visions of Australia allows this to happen," Senator Macdonald said.

"These exhibitions will be welcomed in Tamworth and I encourage local residents to take the opportunity to visit the displays when they are in town," he said.

The Visions of Australia program provides assistance to museums, galleries, libraries, archives and community organisations, to develop and tour exhibitions nationally.
