Celebrating our local child care workers

Tuesday, 13 September 2005

Federal Member for Gwydir John Anderson today encouraged parents, child care services and co-workers to nominate a staff member for this year’s Fisher-Price Child Care Awards.

Mr Anderson today announced nominations for the awards to find the Child Care Worker of the Year and Children’s Services Director of the Year in his electorate.

The Australian Government, educational toy manufacturer, Fisher-Price, and Childcare Associations Australia want to recognise the contribution of staff to the industry and the invaluable role they play in caring for our children.

The awards are open to all child care workers throughout Australia and encourage everyone to nominate an outstanding achiever.

The finalists from each state and territory will receive return travel and accommodation in Sydney where they will be given a spa treatment, as well as $1000 worth of Fisher-Price toys for their child care service.

The two overall winners will also receive $3000 worth of Fisher-Price toys for their child care service.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for parents and child care centres in Gwydir to thank the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to give our children the best start in life,” Mr Anderson said.

Nominations and application criteria for the Fisher-Price Child Care Awards are available in Australian Family Magazine or online www.motherinc.com.au

Nominations close 10 November 2005 and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 29 November 2005.
