ACT Liberal Senator Gary Humphries today officially launched Centrelink's new look Customer Service Centre for Belconnen.

"Belconnen Centrelink is typical of the new face of Centrelink with an open-plan design, modern facilities and the latest technology, providing customers with a variety of choices in accessing help from the Australian Government," Senator Humphries said.

The refurbishment includes a new office colour scheme, additional customer seating and updated furniture and décor.

Senator Humphries said people also have the added convenience of new self-service facilities at the Belconnen office.

"Customers can now conduct their Centrelink business online or by phone without the need to stand in a queue," he said.

"The new spacious office layout was specifically designed with customers in mind and I think they'll be pleasantly surprised by the new technology and improvement in facilities."

Senator Humphries congratulated staff for the smooth transition during the refurbishment and their professional and dedicated approach to providing quality customer service.

Belconnen Centrelink provides a full range of customer services including access to Social Workers, Financial Information Service Officers and Multicultural Services.

The office is located at North Point Plaza, on the corner of Chandler Street and Benjamin Way in Belconnen and is open from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.
