Accusations by One Nation office holders that fraud charges against One Nation figures are part of a political conspiracy serve to undermine the judicial system, warned the Deputy Prime Minister, John Anderson today.

"These charges are a matter for law enforcement agencies. To suggest that any police force is pursuing a prosecution at the behest of politicians is to smear the reputation of every police officer and parliamentarian in the country.

"Law enforcement agencies are there to impartially enforce the law.

"The rule of law has to be respected or our system of justice will fall apart.

"One Nation seems to not only want to undermine the political system but also the judicial system.

"Claims of a conspiracy are nonsense. The only person who seems to be benefiting is the One Nation leader," Mr Anderson said.
