SOUTH WEST AGED CARE SECTOR ENCOURAGED TO ENTER EXCELLENCE AWARDS

Member for Wannon - David Hawker - is encouraging aged care organisations from the south west to enter the 2003 Aged Care Excellence Awards.

Mr. Hawker said the awards provided an opportunity to display the south west’s many positive and outstanding examples of achievement, innovation and creativity in the sector.

“In particular, the awards will seek out examples of innovation, commitment and professional growth,” Mr. Hawker said.

“They will give the sector a chance to acknowledge excellence and innovation in the south west and reward those achievements.

“The awards are open to individuals and organisations from Commonwealth funded aged care homes, Community Aged Care Package Providers and Extended Aged Care at Home Providers.”

The categories for the 2003 Awards will be:

• Minister’s Award for Excellence in the Aged Care Industry, Leadership and Management • Minister’s Award for Excellence in the Aged Care Industry, Training and Staff Development (organisations) • Minister’s Award for Excellence in the Aged Care Industry, Professional

Development (individuals) • Ministers Award for Excellence in the Aged Care Industry, Rising Star
