ENCOURAGING ENTERPRISE REPORT RELEASED The Prime Minister today launched Encouraging Enterprise - a new small business report that highlights the entrepreneurial success of Australia's 1.2 million small businesses.

Encouraging Enterprise outlines a range of initiatives that are increasing small business innovation and growth. It also showcases the success of the Howard Government's small business policies.

“Encouraging Enterprise underscores the Government’s determination to make life even better for the nation’s most innovative businesses,” Fran Bailey, Minister for Small Business and Tourism, said today.

"I am delighted the Prime Minister has launched Encouraging Enterprise. The policies contained in the Report give a clear demonstration of the Howard Government's strong ongoing support for small business."

Encouraging Enterprise highlights the Howard Government’s strong commitment to giving small businesses the support they need to grow and create more jobs. It covers recent achievements and a range of initiatives to help small business grow and prosper.

“More than 95 per cent of all businesses in Australia are small businesses. Small business creates more than 3.3 million jobs and is a vital source of innovation, exports and economic growth," Fran Bailey.

“Encouraging Enterprise recognises the simple fact that the success of small business is essential to our nation's economic and social prosperity.”
