John Forrest MP, The Nationals Federal Member for Mallee today congratulated the MacKillop College community on the completion of two projects funded largely by the Australian Government.

The first project involved the construction of student amenities and technology extension and the refurbishment of technology centre and staff complex, while the second project included the refurbishment and extension to music, drama and dance facilities.

“These outstanding facilities will help ensure all students at MacKillop College are encouraged to realise their potential and attain their goals. The technology wing in particular is a very eye catching structure which is a positive addition to the landscape of

McCrae Street.”

Mr Forrest officially opened the new facilities on behalf of the Australian Government Minister for Education, Science and Training, the Hon Julie Bishop MP.

The project was funded by the Australian Government under the Capital Grants Programme $1,245,000, and the local school community $221,884.

Mr Forrest said the project demonstrated the Australian Government’s commitment to providing every student with the best possible learning environment through the provision of these updated facilities.
