All Australians onside with our World Cup bid Thursday, 02 December 2010

The Parliamentary Secretary for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Kate Lundy, said today that all Australians were united in support of Australia's bid to host the 2022 World Cup.

‘We are optimistic about Australia's pitch to host the World Cup,’ Senator Lundy said.

‘As a sporting nation with a diverse multicultural heritage, we're a stand-out choice.

‘For football fans, we offer world-class sporting facilities and for spectators and tourists, we offer a welcoming atmosphere.

‘If Australia's bid is successful we'll have the opportunity to showcase our passion for sport, our beautiful landscape and our culturally diverse nation.’

Senator Lundy said Australia's headline pitch Complete the Dream captured the hopes of the nation.

‘As a diverse multicultural nation, we are all united in our goal to secure the World Cup,’ Senator Lundy added.
