The Hon Bob Baldwin MP Federal Member for Paterson 4 June 2009

Member for Paterson, Bob Baldwin MP, is encouraging budding young athletes from the Paterson electorate to consider applying for funding worth up to $3000 to follow their sporting dreams, under the Local Sporting Champions Program (LSCP).

“In recent months I have had the pleasure of congratulating a number of budding young athletes from across the Paterson electorate on their successful application for funding under the LSCP,” said Mr Baldwin.

“Through their determination and natural talent these young athletes have achieved some phenomenal results in their respective fields.

“The LSCP offers up to $500 for individuals and $3000 for a team competing in an official state or national sporting competition that is endorsed by the relevant Australian Sports Commission (ASC) recognised national sporting organisation, or national school sport competition.

“Five individual grants and two team grants are still available for this financial year and I encourage all young athletes and sporting teams in the Paterson electorate that are eligible, to consider applying. The Local Sporting Champions grant can contribute towards the cost of travel, accommodation, equipment and/or uniforms for the nominated sporting competition.

“This is fantastic news for all those individuals and teams alike that could benefit from financial assistance to support their goal of achieving their full sporting potential.

“Individuals or sporting teams interested in applying for the grant can do so by visiting my website at, or by obtaining a hard copy application form from my electorate office, located in Raymond Terrace,” said Mr Baldwin.
