Special Operations Command Battle Honour March 26, 2013

The Coalition joins with the Government in paying tribute to the Special Air Service Regiment and 2nd Commando Regiment for its achievements during the Shah Wali Kot Offensive.

This is an enduring tribute to the training, professionalism and dedication of all associated with the Shah Wali Kot Offensive.

This honour is part of the broader story of the endurance and commitment of the ADF in working with our allies in making

Afghanistan, and in turn the world, a safer place.

We congratulate the Special Operations Command on the Battle Honour which is the first to be awarded since the Vietnam War.

It is the Coalition’s hope, that in the years ahead, as the complete history of the operations in Afghanistan is told, that Australians will develop an even richer and deeper appreciation of the courage, professionalism and dedication of our Defence Force
