The Coalition's commitment to support the revitalisation of the Red Hill sporting precinct August 21, 2013

If elected, the Coalition will provide $5 million to the Broncos Leagues Club to kick-start the revitalisation of the Broncos sporting

precinct at Red Hill.

The revitalisation when completed will provide new training facilities for the Broncos, green space for the community and

community facilities. The Coalition commitment will specifically support the construction of a High Performance Training Centre and a Sports Medical Centre.

This is a project that will make Red Hill the permanent home of the Broncos as well as strengthen the facilities available to the

local community. The Broncos will forever be associated with Red Hill because of this revitalisation.

This project will create an estimated 85 new full-time jobs in the construction phase and 35 new full-time jobs when the High Performance Training Centre is complete.

The revitalisation means jobs, green space and better community and sporting facilities in Red Hill.

The Broncos Leagues Club has developed a plan that will make Red Hill the centre of Rugby League in Queensland. It will act as

an anchor for further jobs and businesses to be located in the area.

Importantly, this revitalisation strengthens the local economy around Red Hill, provides much-needed community facilities, as well as invests in the local sporting community.

The Leagues Club invests heavily in local rugby league participation and the new revitalised sporting precinct will include two full-size training fields.

The Broncos Club Queensland Institute to be located within the precinct will also provide job training as well as support the Broncos’ Learn Earn Legend Programme that supports training and mentoring of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young

people.

This project brings together the Broncos Rugby League Club, the state government and local community in a project that will strengthen the local economy for decades to come.

The Coalition’s commitment to the Red Hill revitalisation is part of our Real Solutions Plan to build a stronger Australia and a

better future for all Australians.
