New online 'Payment Finder' helps you save time

Senator the Hon Jan McLucas Minister for Human Services

Mr Graham Perrett MP Federal Member for Moreton

24 April 2013

A handy new online guide to payments will fast-track people through the Human Services website, saving them time and making it easy to see what payments they might be eligible for.

Minister for Human Services, Senator Jan McLucas and Federal Member for Moreton, Graham Perrett said the Payment Finder at is an easy way for people to find what payments and services are available and what they may be eligible for.

"Payment Finder is a user-friendly online tool that matches people with appropriate services and streams them through to a claim process," said Senator McLucas.

"You tap in your age, employment details or household makeup and the Payment Finder will give you a list of payments and services that may be relevant to you.

"Then, it’s a matter of clicking through and refining the results until you arrive at a page that tells you how to lodge a claim for a particular payment."

"This is a great resource, not only for individuals, but also for non-government organisations who can use it to advise vulnerable people about Centrelink assistance they may be eligible for.

Mr Perrett welcomed the new online tool and said people on the Southside can now get information about payments they may be eligible for without having to wait to speak to a person.

"We’re all busy these days so anything we can do to help save people time and make life that little bit easier is very welcome," Mr Perrett said.

"A lot of people are already online, so Payment Finder offers an easy, convenient way to do check out what they may be eligible for.

The Payment Finder uses broad criteria such as a person’s age, employment, or household makeup to create a list of matching payments and services for further exploration.

Where a relevant payment has an online claiming process, the person will be linked to the online self-service registration process, and then proceed to lodging a claim online.

The only way to truly test eligibility is to lodge a claim for a payment.

"Payment Finder will help you decide what you should claim for," Senator McLucas said.
