The Treasurer must come clean with the Australian people about his secret plan to increase taxes to fund his $120 billion Budget black hole.

In Question Time today ‘Wasteful Wayne’ refused to rule out new or increased taxes to fund his ever increasing list of unfunded commitments. JOE HOCKEY:

Will the Treasurer rule out tax increases to pay for his $120 billion black hole? WAYNE SWAN:

I answered this question, in full, yesterday.

(Source: House of Representatives, 11 September 2012) But the Treasurer didn’t answer the question yesterday. He did not rule out new taxes in the House, he did not rule out changes to superannuation and he did not rule out the removal of tax concessions.

Instead, Labor likes to tell Australians they will cut spending. Yet Labor has shown it is incapable of cutting spending. In 2012-13 the Government will be spending around $100 billion a year more than in the last Howard/Costello budget. The Treasurer must immediately come clean with his plans for new or increased taxes and levies to pay for their $120 billion big Budget black hole. Only the Coalition will deliver lower, fairer and simpler taxes.
