More Labor lies: Snowdon deliberately misleads Lingiari residents

Warren Snowdon has been exposed lying yet again to the electorate of Lingiari, once more falsely claiming that a Coalition Government would make changes to the GST.

In a letter to constituents, Mr Snowdon claims that a deal has been made to “take $2.2 billion of our money and give it to the big southern States.” This is completely false.

Mr Snowden also claims that a Coalition Government would increase the GST, citing a rise from 10 per cent to 12 per cent. This is completely false.

The Coalition has consistently made it clear that it has no plans to change either the rate or distribution of the GST and any claims to the contrary are yet another example of desperate Labor spin from a desperate member.

Rather than continuing with his scare campaign, Mr Snowden should instead start explaining to his constituents Labor’s Northern Territory economic thought bubble and its yet-to-be-determined company tax cut, which has invited more questions than it answered.

The hypocrisy of Mr Snowdon is on full display. He claims that an increased GST will make “everything you buy go up”, when his Labor Government is the only government in Australia with a deliberate policy to increase electricity prices and cost of living for all households.

Tony Abbott has repeatedly said that the GST is not going to change. Full stop. End of story.

A candidate who is prepared to mislead voters, like Mr Snowdon has, does not deserve to represent the people of Lingiari.
