Retirement of ACC CEO Mr John Lawler AM APM

Today, Mr John Lawler AM APM, announced his retirement as the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Crime Commission effective Wednesday 16 October 2013.

Mr Lawler’s retirement follows a distinguished 34 year career in law enforcement including almost five years as the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Crime Commission.

“Under Mr Lawler’s leadership, the Australian Crime Commission has developed into a truly national criminal intelligence agency, and has built a strong national capability and capacity to respond to serious and organised crime in Australia,” Minster Clare said today.

“I congratulate Mr Lawler on his strong leadership of the Australian Crime Commission and wish him and his family all the best for the future,” said Minister Clare.

Leadership arrangements for the Australian Crime Commission will be announced following the Federal Election.
