More Labor lies: Only a Coalition Government will scrap the Carbon Tax & keep compensation payments

Darren Cheeseman has been exposed lying yet again to the electorate of Corangamite, this time falsely claiming a Coalition Government will cut the pension.

Mr Cheeseman’s claim, made in a letterbox leaflet, is completely untrue. It is one of the most barefaced lies I have seen in my 22 years in politics.

The Coalition has a long and proud tradition of supporting pensioners and will continue to do so by scrapping the Carbon Tax while ensuring that tax cuts and the fortnightly pension and benefit increases are maintained.

In addition, the Coalition has announced it will index eligibility thresholds for the Commonwealth Seniors Health Care Card so that more self-funded retirees have access to cheaper medicines.

Mr Cheeseman’s latest stunt reeks of desperation from a Labor Government whose campaign is based on lies and scare tactics.

The hypocrisy of Mr Cheeseman is on full display - his Government is the only Government in Australia with a deliberate policy to increase electricity prices and cost of living for all households.

A candidate who is prepared to mislead voters, like Mr Cheeseman has, does not deserve to represent the people of Corangamite.
