WATER PROJECT OFFICIALLY OPENED

Paterson MP Bob Baldwin will today attend the “Open Day” to celebrate the completion of Easts Leisure and Golf Club’s water storage dam.

The three year project to construct the 12 mega litre storage dam on the course was made possible with the help of the Coalition Government’s Community water grants scheme.

The club used the $198,636 funding to construct a dam to store treated effluent which is then pumped on to the course to keep it in tip top condition.

“I applaud the efforts of the club to ensure they have a sustainable water-wise future,” said Mr Baldwin.

“This project is an example of a local club working smarter to achieve an environmentally friendly outcome while also giving back to the community by delivering a top class golf course.

“I am sure other clubs will take note of the example set by Easts.”

Native trees have also been planted under the project which is estimated to save the club 12,000,000 litres of water each year.
