Reports Concerning The Global Mail

Reports today that The Global Mail has treated its workers poorly and fostered a “culture of bullying, nepotism and incompetence” are deeply concerning.

The Coalition trusts that the Fair Work Ombudsman will investigate any allegations that are made to it, and that the Fair Work Commission will duly consider any cases brought before it in relation to conduct at The Global Mail.

These revelations are troubling and must be publicly responded to.

For the last year, the Australian Greens have expressed outrage at the so-called ‘hate-media’.

“One trusts that they will condemn these disclosures of an unacceptable culture within this online media organisation, funded by the Greens biggest donor,” Senator Abetz said.

“The real question is will the Greens again be compromised by their receipt of the biggest political donation in Australia’s history.”

“Incredibly, The Global Mail was last year seeking millions of dollars of subsidies from Australian taxpayers by way of DGR status, direct funding, seed funding and payroll tax concessions.”

“The Global Mail was supposedly established as a “public interest journalism” venture to do investigative exposés, but appears to have scored an own goal,” Senator Abetz said.
