“Labor’s vote in the Senate against a Coalition second reading amendment to the Migration

Legislation noting Labor’s adoption of the Coalition policy of using Nauru and Manus Island is yet

another glaring example of Labor’s denial on its failed border protection policy,” Senator Abetz said.

“All other Senators including the Greens saw the exceedingly obvious point that Labor had turned

around their own boat and are headed to Nauru and Manus Island.”

“Labor’s ongoing refusal to acknowledge they got their policy setting wrong shows they don’t actually

believe in doing what is needed,” Senator Abetz said.

“Having condemned Nauru, and now sending people to re-establish Nauru, Labor still can’t

acknowledge the Coalition was right.”

“Given Labor’s reluctance to acknowledge the obvious does not fill us with confidence that they will

implement the full suite of policies needed for Nauru and Manus Island to work,” Senator Abetz said.
