AUSTRALIA POST INQUIRY PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULE

The/House of Representatives Standing Committee on Transport. Communications J X____________ , and Infrastructure^ m il conduct its first public meetings on its inquiry into rural and remote letter delivery services.

The meetings will be held on 24, 25 and 26 July 1995 in a number of rural and remote locations. A schedule of the meetings and venues is provided overleaf.

Announcing the public meetings, Committee Chairman, the Hon Peter Morris said the public meetings would provide a valuable opportunity for rural and remote communities to comment on the quality of letter delivery services.

The Committee will be seeking views on the performance of Australia Post and its obligation to provide, to all Australians wherever they reside, universal access to a letter service at a uniform rate of postage.

The public meetings will be held in Horsham, Mildura, Broken Hill, Armidale and Grafton.

The public meetings will, in most cases, be two hours long. All members of the community are invited to participate.
