CONSULAR TRAVEL ADVISORY -

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has reviewed its Travel Advice for India dated 8 September 1994.

Australians travelling in India should exercise due care and maintain a high level of personal security awareness. In particular, the Department suggests that Australian citizens should consider deferring non-essential travel to the states of Jammu and Kashmir, the state of Assam, and should exercise caution when travelling in the state of Punjab and in parts of the state of Uttar Pradesh.
