CONSULAR SERVICES TRAVEL ADVICE

FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF YUGOSLAVIA

Australian citizens in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) are advised to leave immediately.

The Australian Government has authorised the temporary closure of the Embassy in Belgrade and the withdrawal o f staff. In light of this decision Australians are advised that Embassy operations in Belgrade are now suspended.

Embassy staff have been temporarily relocated to Budapest and a limited service (including in Serbian) is being established there. Australians in Yugoslavia in need o f emergency consular and immigration advice should therefore contact the Australian Embassy in Budapest, Hungary - telephone (36-1) 214 5144.

The Belgrade Embassy website is being maintained and regular updates posted to it. The address is http://www.australia.org.yu
