Loss of electric power in central Auckland

Further to its Consular Travel Advice of 24 February, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade jias been notified by New Zealand authorities that supply of electricity has been restored to all major hotels and all suite-hotels in the Auckland central business district and that these facilities are now fully operational. Business life in the CBD is expected to return gradually to

normal over the next week as cable repairs are completed.

Intending travellers can obtain further information on the status of facilities and business in Auckland from Tourism Auckland on (64 9) 307 7999, or from the Australian Consulate- General in Auckland on (64 9) 303 2429.
