LOCAL BUSINESS RECOGNISED FOR OUTSTANDING EFFORT

Maxiplas, based in Edinburgh, has been recognised for its outstanding commitment to disability employment at the 2012 CRS Australia South Australia Employer Awards held in Adelaide last night.

Minister for Human Services Senator Kim Carr congratulated Maxiplas on winning the Medium Employer Category award for their commitment to employment and training for job seekers with a disability.

“Maxiplas has employed 11 CRS Australia job seekers and provided each of these job seekers with on-the-job training opportunities to kick start their career,” Senator Kim Carr said.

“It is this kind of commitment and on-going support which really makes a difference to people’s lives.”

Local MP Nick Champion also congratulated Maxiplas on its outstanding achievement.

“With dedication like this, these job seekers have been able to achieve their goals, fulfil their potential and contribute to their community,” Mr Champion said.

Mr Brian Stewart, Production Manager of Maxiplas, said working with CRS Australia had taken a lot of the work out of their recruiting process.

“CRS Australia pre-screens the candidates to suit our business needs, which saves us time, allowing me to focus on other aspects of our business. Their support has been integral to the success of our partnership,” Mr Stewart said.

CRS Australia Employer Awards recognise those employers who have shown an outstanding commitment to providing training and employment opportunities for people with a disability, injury or health condition and ensure their work environment is safe.

CRS Australia is part of the Australian Government Department of Human Services. It provides disability employment and assessment services to people with a disability, injury or health condition, and recruitment, injury prevention and injury management services to employers.
