Flood Recovery Grants on offer for Murray

The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) has developed a grants program to help communities affected by the flood events of Summer 2011. The grants are to help with medium to long term recovery projects.

Federal Member for Murray, Dr Sharman Stone says this is welcome news. “Grants range from $100 up to $20,000. Local community-based, not for profit organisations can apply.”

To qualify, projects must:

Directly relate to Rural and Regional Victorian communities affected or impacted by flooding during summer 2010-2011

Benefit communities with a population of fewer than 10,000 people

Be for a charitable purpose (benefit the wider community)

Contribute to community renewal and or rebuilding in the areas of social and community wellbeing, economic, environmental, health, education or culture

Demonstrate a benefit to the community in the medium to long term recovery process (12-36 months

Applicant organisations must also have an ABN or Incorporation Certificate.
