Mr Price has advised school students in their last weeks of school holidays to take a little extra 'care in the sun, making sure to wear a 15+ sunscreen, a, good hat and plenty of cool clothing,

'ylt's -also a good idea to stay in the shade between 1i,-3pm, -wear UV-filtering sunglasses, and drink plenty -of liquid," said Mr Price.

"Even though Earth's protective ozone layer is thinner this' summer, you can still have a good time in your holidays"

Too much t1V light can cause sunburn, dangerous: skin cancers, and is bad for your immune system.

Before the ummer holidays began, the Federal Government launched a public relations campaign advising students, parents and teachers of the dangers of over-exposure to UV-light.

Australia has the highest incidence of skin cancer . in the world, and young people were particularly at risk. _

"Kids especially have very sensitive skin. Before you let them outdoors, you should always make sure. they are protected. Even our famous sportspeople are never seen in the sun these days without the zinc cream on their noses," said Mr Price. .

Mr Price said the Government was, on target to phasing out CFCs and other ozone-depleting substances, and was recently party to an updated international agreementl to'spe6d up ozone-protective measures.
