Supported by Manse Payne, Liberal Party Senate Candidate, Stephen O'Doherty MP, State Member for Kuring-gai, and Andrew Tink, State Member for Eastwood, the Liberal Party staged a colourful campaign opening in Hornsby on Saturday.

Philip Ruddock's campaign rooms at 14 Hunter Street, Hornsby saw a large crowd spill out onto the street sporting Fightback! Information as well as Ruddock balloons for the children. Philip Ruddock urged his supporters to work actively not only for his campaign but for the Liberal Party Senate team.

"A majority in the Senate is just as essential as a majority for the House of Representatives to implement the Hewson Government's reform agenda", Philip Ruddock said.

Lance Barrett, Campaign Chief told the crowd how proud the Liberal Party was to have someone of Philip Ruddock's seniority and talent as the Berowra standard- bearer. He outlined the active Campaign involving visits by Bronwyn Bishop to Dural and a major Public Meeting in Hornsby. The Fightback! Information Office in Florence Street Hornsby, which opened six months ago continues to distribute comprehensive information on the Fightback! package to electors and answers queries from all over New South Wales.

Andrew Tink, Member for Eastwood described his 5 years associations with Philip while Philip had been Member for Dundas.

"The electors of Berowra, some of whom are my constituents would have an active and effective Federal Member of Parliament in Philip Ruddock", Mr Tink said.

Stephen O'Doherty referred to the active pace of campaigning that Philip Ruddock had demonstrated since his endorsement as the Liberal Candidate 10 months ago.

The Liberal Party's Public Meeting will be held at the Hornsby Girls High School Hall, Edgeworth david Avenue, Hornsby on Wednesday evening, 3 March, starting at 8pm.

Tables distributing Fightback! information will continue each Saturday in major centres of the electorate including Berowra, Asquith, Mt Colah, Hornsby, Beecroft, Thornleigh, Cherrybrook, Westleigh, Carlingford, Fox Valley (Wahroonga), Hornsby Heights, Thompson's Corner, Pennant Hills, Brooklyn and Hornsby Station.
