Purpose To increase the supervisory levy payable by general insurance companies.
Background Refer to the Digest for the Life Insurance Supervisory Levy Amendment Bill 1991.
Main Provisions Clause 3 will amend section 6 of the Life insurance Supervisory Levy Act 1989 to increase the maximum levy for 1991-92 to $15’ COO. Under section 6, the levy for later years will be this amount indexed for movements in the CPI.
