Date introduced: 6 December 2006

Portfolio: Veterans' Affairs

Commencement: Sections 1-3 commence on the date of Royal Assent. Schedules 1-3 and Schedule 4, items 1, 2, 5, 6, and 13-31 commence the day after the Act receives Royal Assent. Schedule 4, items 3, 4 and 7-12 commence retrospectively on 1 July 2004.

Purpose

To correct anomalies and improve administrative procedures in the Veterans’ Affairs portfolio.

Background

This Bill contains minor and technical measures that are adequately covered in the Explanatory Memorandum.
