A Bill for an Act to abolish the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, and for other purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1   Short title

                   This Act may be cited as the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (Abolition) Act 2013 .

2   Commencement

             (1)  Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

The day this Act receives the Royal Assent.

 

2.  Schedule 1, Parts 1 and 2

The 28th day after this Act receives the Royal Assent.

 

3. Schedule 1, Part 3, Division 1

The day this Act receives the Royal Assent.

 

4. Schedule 1, Part 3, Divisions 2 to 5

The 28th day after this Act receives the Royal Assent.

 

5.  Schedule 1, Part 3, Division 6

The day this Act receives the Royal Assent.

 

6.  Schedule 1, Part 3, Divisions 7 and 8

The 28th day after this Act receives the Royal Assent.

 

7.  Schedule 1, Part 4

The day (the repeal day ) after the day on which the amount standing to the credit of the CEFC Transitional Special Account established by item 16 of Schedule 1 is reduced to nil.

The Minister must announce the repeal day by notice in the Gazette . The notice is not a legislative instrument.

 

Note:          This table relates only to the provisions of this Act as originally enacted. It will not be amended to deal with any later amendments of this Act.

             (2)  Any information in column 3 of the table is not part of this Act. Information may be inserted in this column, or information in it may be edited, in any published version of this Act.
