A Bill for an Act to amend the law relating to workplace relations, and for related purposes
The Parliament of Australia enacts:
This Act may be cited as the Fair Work Amendment Act 2012 .
(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

The day this Act receives the Royal Assent. |

2. Schedule 1 |
The later of: (a) 1 January 2014; and (b) the commencement of item 1 of Schedule 4 to the Superannuation Legislation Amendment (Further MySuper and Transparency Measures) Act 2012 . However, the provision(s) do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur. |

3. Schedule 2 |
The later of: (a) 1 July 2013; and (b) the commencement of item 1 of Schedule 4 to the Superannuation Legislation Amendment (Further MySuper and Transparency Measures) Act 2012 . However, the provision(s) do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur. |

4. Schedules 3 to 8 |
A single day to be fixed by Proclamation. However, if the provision(s) do not commence within the period of 6 months beginning on the day this Act receives the Royal Assent, they commence on the day after the end of that period. |

5. Schedule 9, Parts 1 and 2 |
At the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 4. |
|

6. Schedule 9, Part 3, items 1339 to 1383 |
The later of: (a) the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 4; and (b) immediately after the commencement of the Fair Work Amendment (Transfer of Business) Act 2012 . However, the provision(s) do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur. |

7. Schedule 9, Part 3, item 1384 |
The later of: (a) the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 4; and (b) immediately after the commencement of Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Amendment Act 2012 . |

8. Schedule 9, Part 3, item 1385 |
The later of: (a) the same time as the provision(s) covered by table item 4; and (b) immediately after the commencement of the Fair Work Amendment (Transfer of Business) Act 2012 . However, the provision(s) do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur. |

Note: This table relates only to the provisions of this Act as originally enacted. It will not be amended to deal with any later amendments of this Act.
(2) Any information in column 3 of the table is not part of this Act. Information may be inserted in this column, or information in it may be edited, in any published version of this Act.
Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.
