Summary

Amends the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 in relation to: low regulatory concern chemicals, including new permit categories and exemptions, annual reporting and record keeping obligations; administrative processes for some permit renewals; and make miscellaneous and consequential amendments in relation to: the definition of “cosmetics”; inclusion of certain material on the Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances; and mandatory company registration for chemical introducers. Also contains application, saving and transitional provisions.
