Senator KEEFFE (QUEENSLAND) - Is the Minister representing the Minister for Urban and Regional Development aware that the Queensland Government has again served notice to quit on persons occupying homes on the route of the proposed freeway on the northern side of the city of Brisbane? Will the Minister agree that this action is only a petty campaign initiated by the Country Party Government of Queensland to disadvantage further low income occupants as parts of the current State election campaign? As no work is proceeding on the freeway, will the Minister take appropriate action to ensure that the rights of tenants are fully protected?

Senator CAVANAGH - I do not know the position in Queensland. I will have to put the question to the Minister for Urban and Regional Development. I know that the Queensland Government is the type of government which would exploit to the limit something underhanded from a political motivation. I will submit the question to the Minister and try to get an answer.
